The tides of Samhain surround us and the end of the Harvest Season is neigh. Here once again is the time for us to connect with our Beloved Dead more deeply, those Benevolent Ancestors of blood, of choice, and of land.

It is said that the veil Between the living and the dead is at its thinnest during this time, and the doorway between these two realms awaits our simple knock. Our Ancestors stand ready to greet us with love, to spend time visiting our hearths and homes, offering cosmic witness, wisdom, and assistance to better our earthly lives.

Let us together light the way for them to join us now—let us lay altars covered with their favorite things, offer them their favorite foods, pour them glasses of their favorite libations.

The Ancestors are our friends and our family; they are our Loved Ones and we need not fear their presence. They are here to remind us that death is a natural result of life and that it comes for us all. Death is the transformation that gives way to new growth; it is one of the greatest gifts that Goddess offers to us.
